Yes, my friends being creative, starting an art practice takes courage. Why? Because we are afraid to start, afraid to mess up, afraid of what other people will think or say, afraid to give ourselves this gift!
My advice is to go for it. You will never know if this is something you really enjoy, or if you are any good at it (which doesn't really matter if you are or not as long as you enjoy doing it for you!).
Make time, Give yourself 15-30 minutes a day to work on your creative ideas. Make space. Dedicate a place where you can work. Get materials. Invest in the materials you want to work with. Make a goal. I will work on my art for 30 minutes each day on Monday Wednesday and Friday this week. Be gentle. If you aren't happy with how something turned out put it away for awhile, work on something else, or try it again!
This quote is from Instagramer @goldfishlovefibers... "It's okay to make beginner work when you are a beginner at a new skill. It doesn't mean you are bad at it and you do not need to apologize for where you are at!" Be careful. You do not have to share your work with anyone.
The most important thing here is to start and do the work! Dive in courageous creatives!!! Happy Creating, ~Cecelia
