#24 Fading- Original Acrylic Painting
Original acrylic painting on canvas panel
My daily paintings are acrylic on 6"x6" canvas panel. I start by setting up a still life using colored papers and flowers cut from the garden or bouquets from the store. I set up my palette with a limited number of colors. I use one big brush for the entire painting. My goals are to keep the composition simple, the colors clean and bright, create lights and darks and not to get fussy by limiting my brushstrokes. I paint everyday because it makes me feel like I have accomplished something each day. It gets me into a creative flow and allows me to practice consistently what I am passionate about, painting. I paint flowers because I love their color, shape and energy. My hope is that I can capture the essence and energy of the flowers in this daily painting practice.
